This is also what I mean when I say this work has to hold up in real life. It’s not that I don’t value the more intentional spaces. I do. I love them. But most of life isn’t lived there. It’s in the everyday, the stuff that just needs to get done. Somewhere along the way, that became the practice. It’s in how I move through things..the ritual in the mundane. Feeding animals, walking, driving… I stopped trying to get through it and started actually being there for it. That’s where I notice things now. The clarity, the small shifts, that feeling of being guided without having to sit down and ask for it. Not everything comes through meditation or a perfectly set space. Sometimes it shows up because you’re just here. Your body’s here, your attention’s here, and you’re not trying to be somewhere else. Something opens in that. The connection feels easier, more natural.
This is where it gets real. I think that comes from practice, from doing the work enough that the connection doesn’t just happen when you go looking for it, it’s there while you’re living. Some of the clearest messages I’ve received haven’t come when I was sitting down trying to access something. They’ve come while I’m in motion, mid-task, doing something completely ordinary. Spirit drops in and it feels different. It feels clear, direct, not something I need to question or pick apart. Sometimes it’s guidance. Sometimes it’s understanding something I didn’t have words for before. Sometimes it’s just a sense of knowing or peace that settles things. It doesn’t feel like I’m reaching for it. It feels like I’m available to it. For me, this connection is just as real, because it works here. .In real life.
